An Adventure For Your Taste Buds

Chriset Sweet and Edible treats specializes in desserts that are meant to give you the feeling I had as a child when my Great Grandmother, Grandma Jessie Mae would bake. I started off recreating some of her best treats and making many attempts at the banana pudding everyone remembered but didn’t have a recipe for, until I got it just right. Soon extended family and friends would ask me to make all of their feel good desserts (peach cobblers, pound cakes, sweet potato pie, german chocolate cake, etc.) for their gatherings and I loved it so much, I was happy to. My family started encouraging me to charge for my baking as so much time, detail and top tier ingredients go into my creations, but I hesitated at first. As family and friends started to serve my desserts to their friends and guests, more people wanted my number and it became clear that the demand was there. I started selling my treats under “The Cake Lady” in about 2015, a name that was chosen for me because people would refer to me as their cake lady, which I’m proud to be! In 2020, I changed my business name to Chriset Sweets and Edible Treats, which combines the names of my 2 daughters and covers all the magic I bake up outside of cakes. What sets my work apart is that you will not get a dessert that’s beautiful to look at but no one enjoys. The taste and that feeling at Grandma Jessie Mae’s is first, but it’s nice to look at too!
